This technical regulation of the Customs Union specifies requirements to low-voltage equipment for the purpose of protection of public life and health, property and prevention of actions misleading purchasers (users) of low-voltage equipment regarding its purposes and safety.
Technical regulation of the Customs Union for low-voltage equipment applies for electrical devices suitable for use at a nominal voltage of 50 V AC through 1000 V AC inclusively and of 75 V DC through 1500 V DC inclusively.

Electric hand tools (handheld and portable electrical machinery). Electric musical instruments. Cables, wires and cords. Automatic breakers, protective cutout devices. Devices for electric energy distribution. Electrical apparatus for electrotechnical sets control. |
DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY IS REQUIRED FOR:
Electrical devices suitable for use at nominal voltage of 50 V AC through 1000 V AC (inclusive) and of 75 V DC through 1500 V DC (inclusive) excepts ones that fall under Certificate of conformity (mentioned above).
The foreign manufacturer can apply for certification only through the Customs union residential company. It means that a Russian, Kazakh or other CU country’s company should bear responsibility for the products quality on the base of Local representative agreement. It can be the importer, distributor of the product or any other company located in the CU that will agree to act as a Local Representative.
The CoC / DoC can be issued for a batch (one consignment) or for serially produced products. The maximum applied validity of the approval document is 5 years.
The process lasts from 1 week to 1 month depending on certification scheme and the form of approval (DoC or CoC)
