This Technical Regulation of the Customs Union sets out the requirements to equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres, the compliance with which provides its safe use in explosive atmospheres. It was adopted for the purpose of protection of life and health of persons, property and prevention of actions misleading the customers.

The Technical Regulation of the Customs Union 012/2011 applies to electrical equipment (electrical apparatus), including Ex-components, and non-electrical equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres.
TR CU 012/2011 assumes only one approval form:
The foreign manufacturer can apply for certification only through the Customs union residential company. It means that a Russian, Kazakh or other CU country’s company should bear responsibility for the products quality on the base of Local representative agreement. It can be the importer, distributor of the product or any other company located in the CU that will agree to act as a Local Representative.
The CoC can be issued for a batch (one consignment) or for serially produced products. The maximum applied validity of the approval document is 5 years.
The Technical Regulation of the Customs Union sets out the obligatory tests of the samples in the accredited laboratory on the territory of the CU and production site audit or in other words audit of Quality Management System (QMS).
