This Technical Regulation defines the necessary requirements for packages (closures) and aims at safety of life or health of citizens, property, protection of environment, life and health of animals and plants, and also at prevention of the actions misleading the consumers regarding their application and safety.

EUROPEAN ANALOGUE – European directive 94/62/EC “On packaging and packaging waste”
PRODUCTS TO BE CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TR CU 005/2011
All packages imported to the Eurasian Economic Union classified by materials used:
- Metal;
- Polymer;
- Paper and cardboard paper;
- Glass;
- Wood;
- Combined materials;
- Textile materials;
- Ceramic;
All closures classified by materials used:
- Metal;
- Cortical;
- Polymer;
- Combined;
- Cardboard paper.
TR CU 005 DOES NOT APPLY TO:
Packages for medical devices, medicines, pharmaceutical products, tobacco products and hazardous materials.
APPROVAL FORMS
TR CU 005/2011 assumes one approval form:

WHO CAN APPLY?
The foreign manufacturer can apply for certification only through the Customs union residential company. It means that a Russian, Kazakh or other CU country’s company should bear responsibility for the products quality on the base of Local representative agreement. It can be the importer, distributor of the product or any other company located in the CU that will agree to act as a Local Representative.
POSSIBLE APLIED VALIDITY
The DoC can be issued for a batch (one consignment) or for serially produced products. The maximum applied validity of the approval document is 5 years (for serially produced products) or not stated (for a batch).
TIMING
The process lasts for 1-2 weeks depending on the applied product.
