THE TECHNICAL REGULATION OF THE CUSTOMS UNION 029 “SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF FOOD ADDITIVES, FLAVORINGS AND PROCESSING AIDS” (TR CU 029/2012)

This Technical Regulation defines the necessary requirements safety of food additives, flavorings and processing aids and aims at safety of life or health of citizens, and at prevention of the actions misleading the consumers.

It came into operation on July 1, 2013

PRODUCTS TO BE CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TR CU 029/2012

  • Dietary supplements, nutritional supplements complex;
  • Flavorings;
  • Processing aids;
  • Food products in terms of its content of dietary supplements, biologically active substances of flavors, residual amounts of processing aids;
  • Processes of production, storage, transportation, sale and disposal of food additives, flavorings and processing aids.

TR CU 029 DOES NOT APPLY TO:

Items carried out by citizens at home and (or) in private farms during manufacturing, storage, transportation, sale, disposal and use of food additives, flavorings and processing aids that are intended only for personal use and are not intended for release at the unified customs territory of the Eurasian Customs Union.

APPROVAL FORMS:

TR CU 029/2012 assumes one approval form:

STATE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE (SRC).

WHO CAN APPLY?

The foreign manufacturer can apply for certification only through the Customs union residential company. It means that a Russian, Kazakh or other CU country’s company should bear responsibility for the products quality on the base of Local representative agreement. It can be the importer, distributor of the product or any other company located in the CU that will agree to act as a Local Representative.

POSSIBLE APLIED VALIDITY

 The maximum applied validity of the SRC is not defined.

TIMING

The process lasts from 3 to 6 months.

SPECIAL MARK

After the certification process is completed the product should be marked as the following:
