The goal of the marathon is to promote the environmentally sustainable development of the Baikal region and promote active recreation and a healthy lifestyle on Lake Baikal.

Participants will traditionally be offered two distances – 21.1 and 42.2 km. The route runs between two opposite shores of the lake. The marathon runners will start in the village of Listvyanka (Irkutsk district), and finish on the opposite bank, near the village of Tankhoy (Republic of Buryatia). Those who run the "half" finish in the middle of the lake. Control points are located every 5 km.
WWBridge recognizes environmental protection as one of the most important factors for successful business development and intends to actively support the principles of caring for the environment.
