The EAC logo applied on goods informs its user that a Certificate or Declaration of Conformity  of the Technical Regulationhas of the Customs Union (EAEU) been drawn up for the product.

EAC marking for textile

For textile goods export to the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan), a Declaration or Certificate of Conformity is required in accordance with TR CU 017/2011 or TR CU 007/2011 . After receipt of the approval documents required, EAC marking is applied on textile products. 

Presence of EAC marking on a product means that it conforms to the safety requirements indicated in the Technical Regulation for the respective product group. In this article, we explain in detail the requirements to EAC marking for textile products.

General requirements for EAC marking for all textile products:

  • Application is made on the product, label attached to the product, or trading tag, product package, product group package or product instruction leaflet.
  • Marking and information must be in Russian or the official language of the Customs Union member state where this product is manufactured and sold to its user.
  • For imported products, the name of the country of manufacture, name of manufacturer and its legal address are allowed to be specified with Latin letters.

TR CU 007/2011

TR CU On safety of the products for kids and teenagers (TR CU 007/2011) is applicable to: 

- all the textile product for kids under 14 and for teenagers from 14 to 18 years.

Requirements for marking of goods in accordance with TR CU 007/2011

1. The marking of the products must contain the following information:

• name of the country of manufacture;• name and location of the manufacturer (a person authorized by the manufacturer), importer, distributor;• product name;• type (purpose) of the product (if necessary)• date of manufacture (month, year) • uniform sign of circulation on the market;• service life of the product (if necessary)• warranty period (if necessary);• trademark (if any).

2. For imported products, the name of the country of manufacture, name of the manufacturer and its legal address are allowed.

3. Marking of clothes, products made of textile materials, leather, fur, knitted garments and ready-made textile piece products in addition to obligatory requirements must have the information specifying:

  • type and mass fraction (percentage) of natural and chemical raw materials in the product’s upper material and undercloth (deviation of the raw materials percentage actual values must not exceed 5 percent), as well as type of fur and type of its processing (colored or not colored);
  • size of the product in accordance with standard size scale or the requirements of a regulatory document for a particular type of products.
  • product care symbols and/or instructions on the product care peculiarities in the course of use (if necessary).
- The products for new-born children and underwear for kids under 1 year should be accompanied with information “Previous washing is obligatory”.
- Marking of footwear must have information about size, model and/or item number of the product, upper, undercloth and tread material, conditions of the footwear use and care.
- Marking of school satchels, bags, portfolios and backpacks shall contain information on the age of its user.

TR CU 017/2011

TR CU On safety of soft goods (TR CU 017/2011) is applicable to:

1. Textiles;
2. Clothes and knitted fabric;
3. Machine made rugs and carpeting;
4. Leather and textile accessories;
5. Felts and nonwoven materials;
6. Footwear;
7. Fur and fur goods;
8. Leather and leather goods;
9. American fabric.

Requirements for marking of goods in accordance with TR CU 017/2011

The marking must contain the following mandatory information:
• product name;
• name of the country of manufacture;
• name of the manufacturer or seller or the person authorized by the manufacturer;
• legal address of the manufacturer or seller or the person authorized by the manufacturer;
• size of the product;
• composition of raw materials;
• trademark (if any);
• uniform sign of circulation of products on the market of the Customs Union member states;
• warranty of the manufacturer (if necessary);
• date of manufacture; - product lot number (if necessary).

For clothes and items made of textile materials, additional information must contain:
- type and mass fraction (percentage) of natural and chemical raw materials in the product’s upper material and undercloth. Deviation of the actual content of raw materials must not exceed +/- 5 percent;
- model;
- product care symbols;
- instruction on the product care peculiarities in the course of use (if necessary).

For knitted and textile fabrics, piece products made of them, carpets, blankets, bedspreads, curtains, the additional information must contain:
- type and mass fraction (percentage) of initial raw materials (pile surface of rugs and carpets and products made of them). Percentage of the initial raw materials is specified in the form of standard value with tolerance within +/- 5 percent (except nonwoven materials);
- mass of a piece at standard humidity (for knitted fabrics);
- color stability (for knitted and textile fabrics);
- type of finishing (if any);
- product care symbols. For footwear, additional information must contain:
- model and/or item number of the product;
- type of material used for manufacture of upper part, undercloth and shoe bottom;
- instruction on footwear care ((if necessary).

For the clothes and products made of fur, additional information must contain:
- type of fur and its processing (colored or not colored);
- product care symbols;
- instruction on the product care in the course of use (if necessary).

For leather haberdashery articles, additional information must contain:
- name of the upper material;
- model;
- instructions on use (if necessary);

For leathers, additional information must contain:
- area or mass of leather;
- thickness (if necessary);
- grade.

For fur skins, additional information must contain:
- type of fur;
- type of processing;
- grade, mark;
- area or size.
