Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology (ESMA) is a UAE Federal Authority formed by UAE Government. ESMA will oversee the product quality and adoption of international standards by the manufacturers and traders. ESMA also oversees the Issue of the Certificate of Conformity (ECAS) for the traders and manufacturers of regulated products.

The EQM is a Conformity mark granted to products that comply with international standards of Quality Management System and Continuous improvement. EQM is a Voluntary Certificate valid for 3 years (For Bottled Drinking Water it is mandatory to have it).
With the EQM Certificate, the products are testified to demonstrate compliance with International Quality Standards. The manufacturer has implemented an effective quality management system to ensure continuous compliance.
EQM involves a comprehensive evaluation of the product as well as the quality system used by the manufacturer in production via auditing, testing, and inspection.
The mark is to be printed in the certified product as proof of compliance and approval by the Federal government through ESMA.
