Uzbekistan is a fast-growing country, one of the founders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) that have a strong potential in Oil and Gas Industry. This country but does not belong to the Eurasian Economic Union (Customs union) . So, it’s certification system separated from the CU one.

Uzstandard is the main authority for Standardization and Certification. It set up several certification schemes that can be used if you are going to import products to Uzbekistan.

UZ certificate of conformity for serial producing products can be issued on behalf of the manufacturer. So, any Local Representative from Uzbekistan is not required. It means that any of local agents from Uzbekistan (importer, distributor or another local agent) need to be involved in the process.
Sticking to the Law the process of certification for serial production must be accompanied by the production site audit that is aimed at reviewing the production facilities and conduct the tests of the equipment. Usually two experts from Uzbekistan certification authority visit the production site to make a production analysis report.
Samples for tests can be also sent to the UZ laboratory in case there are no opportunities to hold the tests on site.

UZ certificate of conformity for a batch (one consignment) can be issued only on behalf of the importer. It means that the local agent from Uzbekistan (importer, distributor or another local agent) must be involved in the process.  Please note that in most cases the importer is obliged to resolve all certification issues according to the trade contract because certification process requires his deep involvement in the process. Sticking to the Law the process of certification for a batch of products must be accompanied by the audit to the storage place in Uzbekistan for sampling (small products) or to the installation location (large equipment) that is aimed at conducting the tests of the equipment. Please note that the test at place can be made only after the equipment will be set up.

Generally required documents:

  1. Operation manual in the Uzbek or Russian language;
  2. Technical passport in the Uzbek or Russian language (is a document (book) that contains information on the warranty offered by the manufacturer. It includes essential features and technical specifications, information on disposal and recycling of the product/device and its components, information on certifications made);
  3. Technical drawings of the product;
  4. The Power of Attorney from the manufacturer that gives WWBridge the right to apply for certification and organize the whole process.

The procedure

Under Uzbekistan certification Law if the certificate is valid more than 1 year, is subject to so-called “inspection control procedure”.The amount you pay for the 3 years valid certificate doesn’t include the renewal (inspection control) fees for the period of 2 years. This fee is to be paid separately each year. Additionally, each year it will be necessary to organize a production site audit for experts from Uzstandard to hold the annual production review.
